According to Alberta (2002), “Instructional Strategies are techniques teachers use to help students become independent, strategic students”. Teachers use instructional strategies to effectively accomplish task or meet goals they have for the classroom (Alberta, 2002). Therefore, I will participate in Differentiated Instruction, the use of a variety of instructional strategies, as it attends to student differences and provides students with appropriate work for their abilities and needs (Arends, 2015). For example, I will incorporate both classifications of instructional Strategies, Teacher-Centered approach and Student-Centered Approach (J. Kambuto, Class PowerPoint D.I September 13, 2018).
Teacher-Centered Approach is a instructional approach in which learner’s play a passive role in the classroom. When participating in the Teacher Centered approach, teachers are the primary source of information and are in charge (J. Kambutu, Class PowerPoint D.I September 13, 2018). Opposed to Student-Centered approach, where learners play an active role in their learning and collaborate with their classmates(J. Kambutu, Class PowerPoint D.I September 13, 2018).
